Christie Signs Bill Banning ‘Gay Conversion’ Therapy

Quote
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie today signed a bill banning so-called gay conversion therapy, also known as reparative therapy, or the practice of trying to change a person’s orientation to heterosexual from homosexual.

Christie had previously said that while he opposes the practice, he did not want the government to interfere with parents’ decisions about how to care for their children. He had not said whether he would sign the bill passed by the state legislature in June.

In a statement today, however, Christie said, “At the outset of this debate, I expressed my concerns about government limiting parental choice on the care and treatment of their own children. I still have those concerns. Government should tread carefully into this area, and I do so here reluctantly. I have scrutinized this piece of legislation with that concern in mind.”

It's nice he still has concerns .  That makes me feel soooo much better.

Grotesque.

Comical that if it was a bill banning discussion into gender identity disorder these clowns would be outraged in stead of applauding.

All he seems to care about is himself and how best to get votes.

"Last week he signed a bunch of minor gun-control bills, then vetoed one that would have banned .50-caliber rifles. He vetoed the Democratic bill easing access to medical marijuana for sick kids, but promised he’d sign a new one if they made a few tweaks. Today he’s signing a bill that’ll ban “gay conversion therapy” from being administered to people under 18, but he’s also committing to supporting NJ’s Republican candidate for Senate despite expectations that he’d stay out of the race. Expect three more months of this from Christie — a little for the left to protect his gubernatorial bid and a little for the right to protect his presidential ambitions — and then a tilt towards conservatism once he’s reelected." Christie signs bill banning “conversion therapy” for gay kids in New Jersey

Then this from National Review.

"Those searching for tangible signs that Chris Christie is preparing himself for something bigger than Drumthwacket need look no further than to the comical events of last Friday, on which day Christie vetoed his own gun-control bill. Why else would a man who has one of the worst Second Amendment records in the country choose to go against New Jersey’s political grain in order to kill a measure that he himself had argued for?"

Nope, no way am I supporting this guy. I trust him as far as I can throw him.

That's funny right there!
