Obama said he doesn't have a direct stake in the Redskins debate since he's not a team owner. But he hinted that might be part of his post-White House plans.

"Maybe after I leave the presidency," he joked. "I think it would be a lot of fun."

"I'd probably look at a basketball team before I looked at a football team," said Obama, who plays basketball in his spare time, has coached his daughter's basketball team and is a fan of the NBA's Chicago Bulls. "I know more about basketball than I do about football."

I suppose that one of his last acts as president could be to decree that he now owns some (unfortunate) sports franchise and then he could try his hand at the world of corporate sports. Not exactly a free enterprise situation but it would be interesting to see him flounder about. He could get rid of all of the white players right off the start and then institute whatever bizarre ideas that might pop into his head. I suppose we would all have to get used to post game speeches where racism is invoked to explain why things didn't go his way...why fan attendance is off and viewership is down. Stuff like that.

I think he should set an example for the sport of basketball by ending the bigoted and prejudiced discrimination against short people.

Since Mr. Egalitarian prefers the diversity, I'm certain he'll want to end the preference of gifted athletes over those that just suck like him so many who aren't can make millions of dollars for doing jack sh*t. ::hysterical::

I imagine his "business" would be like McGovern's experience,  after a career in "public service".     If you don't know George McGovern after losing to Richard Nixon,  opened a inn.    It failed of course,  since he had no clue how a business works,  after a lifetime of making life harder for real business owners. 

It was a good thing that joker was never president.   Its too bad we couldn't keep Barry out of there too.

Obama's "business" after he leaves the Presidency (assuming he does) will be to agitate, divide, and act as a dagger in the side of this country.

The sad thing,  there will be lots of teams falling over each other to get him in as an "owner".   He likely won't even put in any money either.    I hope he doesn't get involved with the White Sox (my home team),  since he is a "fan"(LOL). (is there anything real about Barry?)

He got it backwards.   At least W was a team owner and a businessman BEFORE becoming governor and then president.   A couple of decades in a real business would have gotten some of the stupidest ideas out of his brain. As far as I know,  the only private sector job he had,  was when he was a lawyer for slumlords (yes really!) in Chicago. 

On the subject of the Redskins,  they shouldn't change their name.    Survey after survey show most native American Indians don't care or even like the names.   Fake Indians like the senator from Massachusetts doesn't count.

Agreed.  But then again, I was surprised by UND's decision regarding the Fighting Sioux, should have taken the NCAA to court over that one.

He will be a pain in the a#% to every Conservative (and Republican) president that follows him.   He is still young and will have little to do for the next couple of decades (since he will never have to work for a living again).    It will be extra grating to those people because they will be the ones stuck with cleaning up the mess he will be leaving them.    In ways we are still paying the costs of the Carter (not to mention Clinton) regimes. 

The best we can probably hope for,  is that he wants to golf the rest of his miserable life.  Its sucks we are stuck with the cost of his benefits, protection and retirement.   The rest of his life could be and probably will be a vacation.
