So... if the cops knew this, it could explain suspicion and probable cause. It doesn't justify acting outside the law, but it may explain how the situation began escalating in the first place.
True, however, an ex-ray was done, nothing was found, that should have been the end of the story this time.
If I wait to defend someone who has been transgressed against by the police until it's shown they're pure, or at least haven't broken the law in any significant way, well, I won't do that. Two wrongs don't make a right and the damned police must be held to a higher standard.
David Koresh was not a good guy and from what I understand Randy Weaver wasn't either, but the police escalated until they killed them, not the other way around, and that was decades ago. They've only gotten worse and worse since then because we, all the
other people, expected "the law" to hold and so did nothing. And "the law" did not hold and nobody rose up and the emboldenment continued.
They wouldn't have expected an uprising then and it would have had some positive effect. Now, they're ready and waiting for us.
