I had my attitude...ahhh....adjusted...more than once growing up, shocking, I know.
We had two basics to watch out for...
For Mother - Wait till your Father gets home! (Translation - Your ass is grass, GTFO the house now and have as much fun as possible and don't go home till its dark!)
For Father - Wide eyes and any phrase like "Come here" or "Don't make me come back there" (with a hairy arm searching frantically for prey) being the car version.
And yes my smart mouth got me into most of my trouble...but I inherited that so nothing I can do about it. ;D
Something tells me being a friend visiting y'all's homes growing up would have been a hoot...and still might be!

My mother had four seasons: before you leave the house you got "you know what happens if you get into trouble"That was spring.....When you got home you got "what have you been up to"? Now you don't know what she knows so the answer is "nothing" so you were out there for hours and you did nothing? :summer.....you better tell me where you were and what you did and who you were with fall.... answer id didn't do anything and I was all over and saw a lot of my friends...... wrong answer wait till your father gets home winter.

Yeah...that might have happened the first couple times...then she warped from Spring to Winter pretty damn quick and just assumed I was naughty...which odds are better than even I probably was...but the quick evolution worked out timing-wise...usually daylight left to burn and fun to be had while the getting was good so I got back to it! Bill was going to be paid anyway...

Back in the day in the Reggio Calabria region people built round stone homes small poor region and when the tax man came around they would take them down and when the government left they put them back up in a day. Now you can go to those areas and buy homes for one Euro.

Yeah...I usually go..."OK, _________ is really pissing me off!", pretty ambiguous, eh? ;D My sister will lead with the f-bomb often, I may only throw that in between "really" and "pissing" depending how vexed I may be. Funny my big bro often whips the "fine" out there the most...and hence gets lit up the most.
The other one we like to whip out there when somebody is struggling with something is "use your words" like they are a toddler...that usually provokes a response. ::hysterical::
