I made it to midnight.  You didn't miss anything.  The commie rat bastard in chief is still sitting in the Offal Office (when he's not on vacation).

One of my dear friends pointed out an old wives tale is that what we are doing at midnight we will spend the next year doing and what I was doing was visiting with dear friends and forgetting to look at the clock. I think I can live with the next year should the old wives be true.

I was rolling my eyes at the idiot neighbors who prevented me from enjoying uninterupted sleep by going out into the cold once quiet night and shooting off all manner of fireworks...I briefly thought of the 12 gauge, then realized at these temps their volleys wouldn't last long and a couple minutes later I was proven correct and went back to sleep.

So you're saying I got that to look forward to again.

Swell.

My idiot neighbors better hope it is another really cold night.   ;D
