The scenario described at the end of that article is exactly the same as the plot in the book I just finished reading.

The problem, though, isn't the Norks or anyone else with nuke/EMP capabilities. The problem is that we have known for decades that such a threat exists and we have done absolutely nothing to counter it. Our systems can be hardened against either a human sourced attack or against a naturally occurring event but they aren't and there is no evidence that such a defense is even being contemplated let alone implemented.

Well...after the DemonRats demonized SDI (could have been an anti-EMP component off of that technology) any system along these lines would have been pummeled by the DemonRats once again (their endless butter vs guns BS to justify never-ending grotesque spending levels on every half-assed and full-assed social boondoggle to come down the pike!), so yes the problem is us, but not all of us...the us that is progressives dominating the Democrat Party and their enablers in the Republican party...those two are NOT us!
