$2000 rent eats up that $17 WalMart wage fast.

Yup. Economy is definitely booming in ND, but so is the cost of living. Not sure where it all balances out, but CoL is certainly a consideration.

I would trade living further away and the higher gas costs to live cheaper overall...but maybe that is just me...

There are ways to mitigate the COL...

Hell, bring your own small RV!
