I have not been there in a long time. It used to be a 'hip' area not too fr from lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles.
I used to live 2 blocks from Lake and Hennepin.
In short, businesses are leaving because of crime. A
Dollar Store left because of shoplifting.
The city OKed building a temporary housing for homeless who were discharged from hospitals.
A hardware store was allowed to stop paying rent but even then could not survive.

Raleigh, NC had a rate of 506 per 100k and Miami had a rate of only 273 per 100k. Property crime rates in 2022 followed a similar trend. Per 100K people, Minneapolis had 5271 crimes, Raleigh had 2362 and Miami had 1661.
