Thomas Sowell wrote about two tribes in Nigeria. In one region Christian missionaries taught the 3 Rs. In another region Muslims controlled and taught the Koran.When the Brits withdrew all of their govt jobs would go to the literate tribe. So the Muslim tribe asked the Brits to stay rather than see all such jobs go to the other tribe.
