I'm seeing comments, but the site switched to that 'disqus' crap.  Another site I no longer read as I'm not going to keep registering with different comment systems.  Breitbart sites went to disqus also, and I quit reading them, too.  I'm not going to read a website that makes it difficult to comment and/or deletes comments.

Speaking of comments disappearing, it is now the reason I will not bother with Glenn Beck's site.  The article on Brennan supposedly being a convert had over 150 comments yesterday, including one of mine.  This morning it was down to 50 some, with my post also going into the garbage.  The comment wasn't rude or anything, just a response to an idiot who said that only .1% of muslims were terrorists, and we can't condemn blah blah blah.  My very brief reply went something like this:  'Let's see.  1.6 Billion muslims times .1% = 1.6 Million muslim terrorists.  I don't like those odds.  Do you?'  That was the comment that was deleted along with many, many more.  I can't figure out Beck.  And now I can't be bothered being bothered about figuring Beck out.

disqus sucks.  I run Ghostery, Ad Muncher, and a few other security programs... disqus is one of the biggest trackers and depositors of crap.  I agree with you RickZ... most of the comment sections on the sites I visit are garbage, not just the systems used, but the content of the comments as well.

Probably didn't jibe with that whole Ghandi-complex that Beck has going on.

Wait, what?  How come I'm not seeing them, then?  I click on comments and all I get is a big, blank space after the article.

AUSTIN, TEXAS– Today Representative James White filed HB 1142, which provides locals schools boards the discretion to add an elective course offering that would give their high school students the opportunity to gain an appreciation of the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.

“The origins of liberty in our great nation reside in large part with the idea espoused in the Second Amendment,” said Representative White. “As a conservative, I want Texas students to have the option to learn more about both this critical part of our Constitution, and the practical knowledge of how to safely operate the common arms Texans use for hunting and self defense.”

HB 1142 would educate students about firearm safety and training, and hunter’s safety. All instructors would be required to be a qualified and certified handgun instructor or a licensed peace officer, employed by a local law enforcement agency. This optional course would involve students learning proper maintenance, cleaning, and safe use of common firearms such as: pistols, revolvers, rifles and shotguns. The bill would also provide for education on the history and importance of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution....

Pan, you don't even see the word 'comments' in blue?

As of right now, the top story is about a libtard professor and has 29 comments.

I will also say the comments are a little slow to load, so that blank space may fill in.

I do see the word "comments" (it's in red) but when I click on it, nothing at all shows.  Ever.

I get disqus just fine at other sites ....  ::whatgives::

Have you tried a permalink click?

Try this and see what happens:  http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/02/lib-west-virginia-prof-tells-students-they-cant-use-fox-news-in-her-class/

Also, I'm not sure why you see the word 'comments' in red, when I see it in blue.

I'm using Firefox, maybe that's the reason for the color difference.

I've had no trouble with disqus comments anywhere else.  I hatez this computer crap!!

It seems to me that you had similar problems with another site and it turned out to be the way Ghostery (or some other extension) was configured. Is that right or am I hallucinating (again)?  :supercool:

I don't recall anything about Ghostery (what the hell IS THAT?) but that's not to say it didn't happen.

They keep it up, they're going to get full and total control of every round in a way they won't like.

disqus sucks.

I'll tell you why I hate disqus:  You simply cannot follow the comments.  When you nest them, you have a hard time finding 'new' comments.  I'm a verticle reader.  I want my comments to flow one after the other.  You want to respond to someone 20 posts up, then start your comment with their nickname.  The nesting crap just kills conversation flow.  And when did disqus take over almost every comment section?

Ghostery is a webtracker detection tool.

Ghostery sees the "invisible" web, detecting trackers, web bugs, pixels, and beacons placed on web pages by Facebook, Google Analytics, and over 1,000 other ad networks, behavioral data providers, web publishers - all companies interested in your activity.

To see what add-ons or extensions you may have installed in Firefox click on "Tools", "Add-ons" and then "Extensions".

I knew they were being just a bit too quiet after Obama's lackluster 23 executive orders. This is very obviously a coordinated nationwide effort.

We know, just as our Founders knew, that our fundamental rights owe solely to the fact that we exist as living, breathing human beings, made in the image of our Creator. Our Constitution merely enumerates rights that already existed, and it is therefore not the prerogative of any politician, or any majority of dumbasses be they 51% or 99%, to take away. I fear we are approaching that point where liberty will have to be defended with the only defense it has left.
