Nobody will miss the penny...such a PITA for many years now...

But I would miss Abe and his memorial on the reverse side...

So I propose one demotion and two promotions...

Whack FDR from the dime...move Jefferson from nickel to dime...and Lincoln from penny to nickel.

Then, when the nickel becomes obsolete (it may be now!) and the dime (also could be now!) I'd go to just Quarter (Lincoln), Half (Jefferson) and Dollar (Washington) and call it good for coinage...

But...in reality all coinage is heading for obsolescence...maybe we should just get there sooner rather than later...shouldn't be too hard to round things to the nearest dollar and for little cheap things just up the volume you get for a dollar...

Digitally though need decimals for interest, fractional shares in trades etc...  We can trim to whatever for currency while it is still in use...

I agree only in part, I would not want them as a state...they are too liberal, too anti-Bill of Rights, would not want more leftist idiots in our Senate & House and God forbid we get a Justin Castro in the White House!  No, frack statehood, an autonomous territory (which may be the settling point Trump is ultimately after or will to get) would be all I would want to see.

The court order forbids the head of the Treasury dept from accession any records also.
Trump and Musk did a real good press conference from the oval office.
They are both very good communicators. This was great.
Also I heard that the judge did not cite any laws in his order.

No, that POS Judge cited NOTHING!  Which is why I want him and the other 2 I mentioned IMPEACHED and REMOVED!

Love his kid being little Elon with his hands, then got tired and just sat on the floor, lol!

As for DOGE, how about we put this in perspective...

The Romans were also practitioners of what Elon calls in our situation "complaint minimizers"...just pay everybody, nobody bitches and everybody happy...until it all implodes...as it did for Rome...

Rome fell because they had no common sense reformist with a mandate from the people like Donald Trump has...they fell in large part because they had no DOGE, no will to reign in the corruption, waste, fraud and abuse...

In the meantime, we only need to let Trump, DOGE and Congress work....and ridicule the brain-dead morons and toxic-leftist swamp-creatures...

The Poster-crook of Biden-Harris corruption is not a one-off...but it is illustrative of how effed up crap is and how badly controls over payments are needed...common sense controls that every business and households exercise every day!

Peak Graham!

https://youtu.be/S5-XIzqltdo

Senator Lindsey Graham (U-DC) was asked for his thoughts and perspectives about USAID today during a press conference.

Senator Lindsey Graham is senior senator in charge of the upper chamber oversight of foreign government influence operations via the “150 account” that supports the goals and objectives of the State Dept.

Senator Lindsey Graham culminates his entire political career in one brief segment of pretending not to know.

We can officially say this moment achieves ‘peak Graham.’  The part where Graham tells former USAID Director Samantha Power to “quit texting me” is epic.

It is said that in 1860 literary master Ralph Waldo Emerson found a stargate, entered and traveled to this day in history.  Upon return, he wrote:

“The louder he talked of his honor, the faster we counted our spoons.”

Every face tells a story:

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2025/02/11/congratulations-america-we-have-reached-peak-graham/

Lot of sick and embarrassed looking folks in that pic!

Peak Graham!   ::laughonfloor::

This is what makes Trump so great...Pubbies can be embarrassed into getting out of the way...not the toxic-leftists...they take to the streets and spew hate and lies ad nauseum...because they are seeing their whole corrupt enterpise crumble before their eyes...

The louder they bitch, they crazier they get, the more vile they become means we are dead on target!

And about all this lawfare being waged yet again at President Trump...

“I’m not, even today, certain what the constitutional problem is,” he noted.

https://slaynews.com/news/jonathan-turley-baffled-court-intruding-significantly-trump-executive-authority/

That's it!  There is NO Constitutional issue...by employing lawfare yet again the butthurt losers in the Toxic-Left ranks are filing frivolous lawsuits to slow, not stop (the issue is when not if SCOTUS ends their BS) Trump's executive power they are urinating all over Constitutional Executive powers.

On this see the comments by Former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy -

https://dailycaller.com/2025/02/12/mccarthy-dismantles-dem-claims-doge/

...it is a matter of when SCOTUS takes up these ridiculously bogus challenges and injunctions!

IMO they are doing a severe disservice to America and it's voters who gave President Trump a clear mandate for the change he promised if they foolishly defer to the long slow route to ending the Constitutional crisis being perpetrated by the Toxic-Left!

And we must fight back, failure to do so is insane and defeatist!

Under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 65(c), judges can issue injunctions “ONLY IF” the suing party posts a bond to cover potential damages if they’re wrong.
.
.
The government has expert economists who can easily price out the cost of policies like birthright citizenship or wasteful spending. Price injunction bonds fairly, and frivolous lawsuits become a financial risk, not a free pass.
.
.
Without injunction bonds, the American people bear all the costs of activists and judges blocking the agenda they voted for.  Why should activists and judges get to overrule the American people with no penalty if they’re wrong?
.
.
For national injunctions, we’re talking bonds in the hundreds of millions or even billions. It will become prohibitive unless the activists have a slam dunk case.

If a judge tries to lowball the bond amount, it’s a quick and easy reversal given the unambiguous language in the federal rules.

The best part? This doesn’t block activists from court; it just stops them from using preliminary injunctions to pause government action based on arguments that might not hold up in an appellate court.

https://revolver.news/2025/02/x-user-reveals-how-doge-can-beat-left-wing-activist-judges-at-their-own-game/

Do this!  Use 65(c), use it now in all these damned lawfare cases!!!

Some DOGE guy had the handle of big Balls and got let go or some such. So Musk changed his X  handle to Hairy Bolz.

Musk said that at treasury, many disbursements had no tax ID,, no category, and/or no comment/reason for payment. Some SS recipients were over 120 years old.

Judge Englelmayer issued the TRO at 1 AM Sat when he rotated through as "emergency" judge in an ex parte hearing. He forbid all political appointees from accessing treasury records.

https://youtu.be/xMY92Sa69tw
The guy above said that in one week the case was to be sent to the non emergency judge Vargas but she jumped on it and required a hearing on Monday and  a response by late Tuesday.

FBI SAIC stands for Special Agent in Charge. It is a title used to refer to the head of a field office within the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The SAIC is responsible for overseeing the operations of the office, managing personnel, and ensuring that investigations are conducted properly. The role is critical in the FBI’s structure as it helps to ensure that the agency’s work is coordinated at regional levels and that agents and other staff are following federal laws and policies.

Each SAIC oversees a particular geographic area or specific investigative unit within the FBI.

Also FBI has 13000 agents. 5000 worked on Jan 6.
I heard that FBI agents used to be able to work at a regional office their entire career.. Now they have to  rotate to DC for "coordination."

https://voxday.net/2025/02/11/removing-the-obstructions/

Removing the Obstructions

Karl Denninger explains how President Trump can stop all of the preliminary injunctions and temporary restraining orders being used to obstruct his executive orders:
Quote
    (c) Security. The court may issue a preliminary injunction or a temporary restraining order only if the movant gives security in an amount that the court considers proper to pay the costs and damages sustained by any party found to have been wrongfully enjoined or restrained. The United States, its officers, and its agencies are not required to give security.

The Federal Government does not have to post such a bond but States and other filers do.

The amount must be sufficient to compensate the loser, so if you ask for a national TRO or injunction in the general sense we’re talking about millions — or even billions. In the case of fraudulent payments being uncovered, as is currently the case, the potential damage from an injunction is in the tens of billions of dollars and the moving states must post said bond.

Who’s going to write that bond? Nobody, in that sort of amount, so they’d have to post it in cash.

Why isn’t the Trump Administration demanding that said bonds be posted with all such filings?

ChtGPT

In the United States, an ex parte order is a court order that is issued without the presence of the opposing party. These orders are typically granted in emergency situations where immediate action is needed, and it's not feasible or practical to give the other party notice beforehand. For an ex parte order to be granted, the following requirements are generally needed:

Urgency or Emergency: The person seeking the order must demonstrate that there is an urgent situation that requires immediate intervention. Without the ex parte order, the applicant may suffer irreparable harm or damage.

Application or Motion: The party seeking the ex parte order must file a formal request (motion or application) with the court. This document should explain why the emergency is happening, why immediate relief is needed, and why notice to the opposing party isn't possible or would harm the applicant.

Affidavit or Declaration: The person seeking the order is usually required to submit an affidavit or declaration. This is a sworn written statement of facts that supports the need for the ex parte order. It should provide details of the emergency situation, including any evidence that justifies the order and the reasons for not notifying the other party in advance.

Legal Basis: The request must be supported by applicable law or legal precedent that justifies the granting of an ex parte order. This means that the applicant must show that there is a legal basis (such as a statute or case law) that allows for the emergency order.

Specificity: The order must be specific about what action the court is directing. It cannot be vague or overly broad.

Temporary Nature: Ex parte orders are often temporary. The court may set a later date for a full hearing where the opposing party will have the opportunity to present their side of the case. This is usually called a "return hearing" or "show cause hearing."

Bond or Security (in some cases): In certain cases, the person seeking the ex parte order may be required to post a bond or security. This ensures that if the ex parte order was granted improperly or without sufficient cause, the opposing party can be compensated for any damages.
