I think the post is fine. But accuracy is truth, and truth is king. When and where folks on our side of the spectrum try to make good points with inaccurate information, it needs to be noted. There is enough damning info with the truth that we don't need lies.

Those who fervently believe that Martin was a thug or a thug-in-training are especially incensed by the photo of him smiling in a red Hollister T-shirt. Not only do they claim that the photo makes Martin look more innocent and sympathetic, they also charge that it depicts him at a much younger age than he was when he was killed. Their assumption is that Martin is between 11 and 14 years old in the photo. For more than a year, some have been sharing what one reader told me was “an up-to-date photo” of Martin. The person in the photo is the rapper Game, who was about 30 years old when the snapshot was taken for XXL magazine in 2010.

Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump told me in February that the Hollister T-shirt photo of Trayvon was taken in August 2011, when he was 16 years old. That was six months before he turned 17, on Feb. 5, 2012. He was killed three weeks after that.

It seems to hit most of the points. Let's face it - the LSM has purposefully smoke-screened this event from day one. I realized early on that misinformation was the order of the day and when pictures or biographies were offered up I took them with a grain (or two) of salt.

The central point of the email is essentially correct - the events (which were bad enough to begin with) were hopelessly polluted and manipulated by agenda-driven leftists.

This is a pidgin language, let's be honest. Among the WWII memorabilia from my grandfather was a little pocket guide to the pidgin language spoken by the natives of New Guinea. It's a gem of politically incorrect nostalgia, but it was also brutally honest and accurate. The natives of New Guinea had a perfectly good reason for their pidgin language, they had only picked it up in bits and pieces from missionaries. When a person can go through K-12 in a supposedly First World country and emerge with no better grasp of the language, that's just pathetic. It's an indictment of the whole political culture in this country, because it actively prevented any teacher from correcting the students. Their pidgin language is granted equal standing to proper English, and they actually think of it as a victory over "the Man".

A commenter elsewhere (Gateway/HotAir/can't remember) claimed Jeantel's first language was Creole.  Now, I know nothing about Creole (and it seems Haitians speak their own version of it -- Jeantel's "heritage" is Haitian), so if anybody can shed some light on this, it'd be appreciated.  Seems to me that your explanation of pidgin is more on the money, but "pidgin"-what?  It's not even English sentence structure, as far as I can tell:  "So you gotta take as a parent."  Huh?  Take what as a parent?

There might be an intelligent mind behind such speech -- might -- but I'm writing off the person that presents in that manner.  Time and patience are at a premium.
