The Trayvon Martin/Zimmerman Trial Thread
« on: June 24, 2013, 01:55:25 PM »
Anybody up for a new thread dealing with the trial?

I just watched the disgusting opening argument by the Prosecutor. Absolutely disgusting.

I'm not sure I could keep up with it and not have my BP go through the roof.

They had to drag a "Special" (as in Jerry's kids) prosecutor to even get a case going? No thanks.

I made the mistake of listening to a recap of the antics of the two bozo attorneys. Could one possibly find more incompetent help?

So, yea - my BP won't take the strain of blistering imbecility.

God, please protect George - he isn't a bad fella and sure could use your help right about now.

This will be the flip side of the OJ Trial...the douchebag prosecutor is doing what a douchebag prosecutor should do, the asshole most to blame for this fustercluck of judicial kangarooism is the damned judge.  Clown has been anti-defense from the get-go and it is obvious the outcome is sealed.  Not sure how the appeallate courts in this neck of the woods stacks up...but I wouldn't get to invested in this thing...unless the defense gets lucky with the jury (which I have my doubts!) this poor bastard is screwed.  The "No Justice No Peace or We Riot, Burn and Kill" cOmMunItY won't accept anything else...what's one white boys life worth compared to social peace, eh?

ETA - Gosh, wonder what this is about?

I'm sure this will bode well for George, right?  Does this state have discovery laws on the books?  I thought surprises were verboten?   ::whatgives::

And this is pathetic - "The state claims that because the Zimmermans may be witnesses for the state, they must be barred from the courtroom."

The Martins and their fellow travelers may get the riot they are hoping for.
They should take a look at historical outcomes before getting all wistful.

Regarding Rachel, the GF of the DOA vic. I find it interesting that she will be allowed to testify as to anything Trayvon said to her on the phone: the classic definition of hearsay.

"A statement made out of court that is offered in court as evidence to prove the truth of the matter asserted."

There are exceptions to the Hearsay Rule, but I'm not aware that such a phone conversation meets one.

There is an exception for death-bed statements, and it has been stretched to those who "knew they were about to die" even when they were  not literally upon their death beds. However, it would seem a stretch to claim that t Trayvon attacked this guy because he knew he was going to die. I just find that unbelievable. All he had to do is go home and live. Or he could have had a conversation. He chose NEITHER of those options.

Oh, trayvon had a conversation with George. Tray started the conversation with George by saying something like "whachoo lookin at Cracker?" Just before Tvon sucker punched George and jumped on him.

There's a way to solve the question of the phone conversation once and for all.  Just get the NSA to pull their recording of the call!

More on the State's "Star Witness" . . .

Quote
A teenage friend of Trayvon Martin was forced to admit today in the George Zimmerman murder trial that she did not write a letter that was sent to Martin's mother describing what she allegedly heard on a phone call with Martin moments before he was shot.

In a painfully embarassing moment, Rachel Jeantel was asked to read the letter out loud in court.

"Are you able to read that at all?" defense attorney Don West asked.

Jeantel, head bowed, eyes averted whispered into the court microphone, "Some but not all. I don't read cursive."

It sent a hush through the packed courtroom.

Jeantel, 19, was unable to read any of the letter save for her name.

Hit me with yo best shot . . .  .

I wish that I had confidence that the truth will come out in this trial but it sure looks like they have things stacked against the defendant. I guess that some of that will help with the appeal. Might even get his conviction overturned on technicalities.

I am pretty sure that they are going to get the result they want, a conviction. That's just the way it is these days when anyone goes up against the state.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

Just a thought: If I were the prosecutor, I would accuse George of slamming his own head against the concrete and screaming "get off, get off!" after I shot Tray.

Really, the State has no evidence. They can only ridicule and impeach the evidence that Zimmerman has.
