Get his attention<CLOSE THE GOLF COURSES HE SO DEARLY LOVES.

Heard his favorite course at the air force base is open.     I wouldn't be surprised if he is still golfing regularly.   Of course the lamestream wouldn't report it anyway.

If it was so horrible for Bush to golf,  why is ok for Barry?

If it weren't for the double standards, the left wouldn't have any standards at all. 6% unemployment under Bush was bad too.

Yup,   golf course at Andrews Air Force base is open.

But on base grocery stores and commissaries are not........

Go figure....................

BO is so stupid  arrogant he thinks he can close the outdoors!

Our petty and vindictive President Hissy Fit.  Spending money to close memorials that cost nothing to keep open.  Spending priorities in this time of government shutdown crises, you know.  But for now, it's the Precedent's tee time, because you know his federal run golf course will not be closed.  Closings are for the people who won't adore him and give Prince Petulance Pestilence his way.

More examples of the vindictiveness of Obama
« Reply #205 on: October 08, 2013, 05:30:28 AM »
Did you hear about Normandy? More American troops died in one day ... the D-Day landings at Normandy, than in all of the Iraq war. Those who survived that day are dying at a rate of 600 to 900 veterans a day. Many of these men want to visit that beach – that invasion site – again, before they die. 0bama actually ordered the beach, the cemetery and the memorial at Normandy closed. These veterans spent their money to get over to France to visit what they consider to be hallowed ground – and their president, their Commander-in-Chief, had ordered the site closed. That is vicious behavior … vicious, thuggish behavior.

There’s more … more of the pettiness and vindictiveness of President Zero:

• Around the country there are people who live in their own private homes which happened to be located on federal lands. They own these homes on these plots of ground through contractural agreements with the federal government. 0bama has ordered that these people be denied access to their homes during the shutdown.

• You already know how the Park Service has cordoned off the open air, open access monuments and memorials on the Washington Mall. No fences or other barriors anywhere ... until this "shutdown" began. I can tell you for a fact that none of them were closed off during any of the previous 17 shutdowns.

• On the state highways around the Mount Rushmore National Monument in South Dakota you will find turnouts. These are places where you can leave the highway and park to get a view of Mount Rushmore. 0bama has ordered the park service to close these turnoffs ... and the orange cones went up. These are not federal roads ... they’re state roads. But you can see Mount Rushmore, so these turnoffs had to be closed.

• You know what Amber alerts are, don’t you? You can get alerts over radio, on your cell phone and over the Internet about abducted minor children. Well … not the Internet. That’s a federally operated website, so it has been shut down. Is it possible that some abducted child will not be found in time? Yeah ... it’s possible, but then again 0bama has instructed that the shutdown be made to be as painful as possible. What’s one child when it comes to 0bama’s power and agenda?

Has any of this been done in any of the previous 17 government shutdowns? I don't think so.

Is this all going to turn around to hurt 0bama? I hope so. I hope it blows up in his face.

The Praetorian Guard media will be there with presidential seal embossed knee pads on, haughtily shoving (shoveling?) aside all criticism of President Hissy Fit.

Wetbacks crossing the reflecting pool to demand rights they didn't earn and they get a free pass while veterans who fought and bled for freedom get locked out?

anything that directly touches the public is closed (I think it's safe to assume BO's supporters don't go to national parks?), and it seems anyone who directly deals with the public is furloughed (though the chaplains don't deal with the public so that's just being mean)

maybe this will teach some more people -- do not trust the government

You really want the government in charge?

You really think the government wants to help you?

I was just looking at this new affront, included in your list, on Fox News ....

"34. Feds Shut Down Major Roadway, Puts Children's Lives at Risk - "Nearly a third of Blount County is inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. So when the federal government shut down the park, it also shut down one of the area’s chief sources of revenue.

"The children live in the eastern Tennessee community of Top of the World – serviced by School Bus 49. Normally, the bus travels along the Foothills Parkway. Other roads leading to the isolated mountain community are impassible by bus.

"“It’s dangerous,” said Nancy Kemp, the spokesperson for Blount County Schools.”It’s very curvy and straight up the mountain. It’s just not a safe route.”"

The GOP have offered compromise legislation funding the parks. Obama has threatened a veto."
- See more at: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/10/05/list-obama-closures-for-shutdown#sthash.DOr786eL.dpuf

The NPS shut the road while the kids were at school, leaving parents scrambling around for a way to get them home.  And the school bus will not run until the shutdown is over.

Further:

"Local residents have become so frustrated they actually devised a plan to circumvent the feds.

“We already had the codes on the gates and we were getting ready to open it up without notifying them,” the mayor said. “Wiser heads prevailed.”

... “There are laws,” the mayor said. “As radical as some things can be, I don’t know if you want to stop over that line or not.”"

Wiser heads?  Step over that line?

WAKE UP, PEOPLE!  The Feds, and their Brownshirts in every damn state, have already done that.  To YOU!

Arrrggghhh.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner (BAY-nur) says President Barack Obama has called the speaker to say he still won't negotiate on ending the partial government shutdown or raising the nation's debt limit.

Boehner spokesman Brendan Buck says the call took place Tuesday morning.

And for example, from the list Weisshaupt posted -

27. Miramar Air Show Canceled With One-Day Notice -“The emotional and economic impacts of losing this year’s event are great, and I’m extremely disappointed in the political dysfunction that brought us to this point,” Gloria said.

"Proceeds from the event go to programs that support families of military personnel, he said."

Not just that, do you know how many private outfits, sponsors and volunteers involved in these?  Not just the performers, lots and lots of people.

1 fricken day notice?

A lot of this bullsplatter is going to have consequences and repurcussions for Obama...at least it damn well should if people's brains reside north of their ass!

Here's a take home lesson for all these states and local communities: you think just maybe it's not a great idea to have the Federal tentacles in every damn thing done anywhere? A lot of these parks and monuments could just as easily, probably even better, be run by the states or local government. Or private non-profit trusts.

This is exactly why the Feds have inserted themselves into every mundane aspect of public policy at even the lowest levels. They have done it so that nothing can get done without their blessing, and implied in that is the state and local governments appearing before them with hat in hand to kiss the royal ring.

I won't get my hopes up, but these episodes taking place all over the country should be an instructive lesson against letting the Feds in. Maybe think twice when DC dangles that money (that was taken from your local economy in the first place)? I remember taking a basic political science class in college, for general ed requirements, and the professor talked about how American federalism used to be the layer cake model, with each layer of government neatly confined to its own realm. He glowingly approved of the fact that American federalism had been reinvented to the marble cake model, without layers anymore but instead all intermixed.

The states created this Federal government to serve their interests, and by extension ours. It's like the blood eating plant from Little Shop of Horrors. Once contained and dependent, but it devoured so much blood that it grew massive and began calling the shots over its caretakers.

I think it's so funny when I hear people complaining that their elected officials aren't doing anything--"I sent them there to do something!"  I am delighted when they're "not doing anything".
