From imperfect memory.
There is a region in northern Georgia full of ethnic Russians called South Ossetia, on the Russian southern border.
After some troubles of some sort there were Russian peacekeeping troops to protect the locals? Similar to the UN peacekeepers in Kosovo to keep the Serbs from killing the Muslims.
The US Marines armed and trained the Georgian army very well according to Russian military.
The Georgian president decided it would be a good idea to attack South Ossetia and did, with tanks etc. Georgian soldiers made videos of their invasion and posted them.
Russia sent in troops from Russia and drove out the Georgian troops. The western media said Russia started it. It did not end well for the Georgians who got rid of the president as a recall. I think he works for a neocon think tank in US.
BUT the Russians got their butts kicked by the US trained Georgians and driving them out was hard. So they revamped their military as a result, Ritter said.
Fast forward. Georgia was to pass a billing requiring foreign agent registration similar to US FARA.
IMO the demonstrators are paid by the US govt as they often do. Regardless of FARA they want regime change. Likely for a regime that will open a second front on Russia. Some were chanting the name of the town in South Ossetia, indicating they want another invasion. Since the first one and went so well and the war is doing so much good for Ukraine. /s

In the CBS clip above they compare it to some Russian law but not US FARA. The EU says it is contrary to EU values?
This law would have exposed foreign funding of organizations. This is drivel.
On a lighter note, I love this music video featuring the Georgian Ballet. The video is from two other movies, mixed and synced to the song Rasputin. Pretty girls.
