I have to admit to being somewhat dismayed that BO is getting a bounce from this mess. Puzzled and dismayed.

The ratings were crappy. BO laid an egg with his speech. And yet, they get a bounce. Gallup I can understand but Rassmussen came out with the same thing so I guess it is legitimate.

Romney had better get going with that blizzard of media buys.

This is the stuff that puts me into a very fatalistic mood, despairing even. Seriously, if this country is so full of dumbasses that they are willing to re-elect a President this demonstrably awful, then there really is no hope at all. If this man is re-elected, then the country absolutely deserves every calamity coming its way.

Noonan is an ASS, right from the title, "The Democrats' Soft Extremism" -- soft?  SOFT?! -- through her "love" for Joe Bite-me, to near end, "... maybe a sense the Democrats were extreme will take hold."

*Were* extreme?  They ARE extreme.  Noonan's not going to say it outright, though.  She's one of the Republican Party's "tone" people.

On the last night of the Democratic National Convention, a retired Navy four-star took the stage to pay tribute to veterans. Behind him, on a giant screen, the image of four hulking warships reinforced his patriotic message.

But there was a big mistake in the stirring backdrop: those are Russian warships.
