Ranger Reata 2050. Not happening.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

I desire a nice, stainless .22 long rifle revolver.  oh and a few bricks of ammo.

Yea, you & me both  ::thumbsup::

I like the ideas...but this one is pretty neat...$1739...more expensive than the revolver or G30S...cheaper than the boat or tractor...nice 'tweener choice.   ::thumbsup::

I have never fired one, but always wanted one. As you know it's basically an M14 without the full auto capability. There's something about the M14 that I really like, it's the last "real" rifle and pretty much the pinnacle of its type. In essence an M1 Garand that takes detachable mags.

Space age polymers and light, fast intermediate cartridges are all great, but sometimes you just want to go old school and put a man's rifle into your shoulder!

Agreed.  It's like the difference between enjoying a fire in a fireplace and a fire in a firepit, being close to the fire and enjoying the warmth, sound and smell seems better to me outside and it satisifies a primal niche in my DNA.

I like the M1A too.  Little pricy, but a nice firearm.

The M14 was the last issue piece that I could comfortably get 300 yd hits consistently.  It was almost 2nd nature.  The toy guns that follwed didn't have the mass to stabilize them, IMHO.

Out of curiosity, was yours with a fiberglass stock or wood?

Next on my list. ( and I'll take some suggestions) Rifle and functional scope. Ability to shoot to 500 yds. ( That's the top of my hill in front of my house)
I'm not always engulfed in scandals, but when I am, I make sure I blame others.

Don't have anything in that class Don, maybe our big game hunters here can weigh in, but IIRC my gun forum info over the years the Rem 700 seems to have a good competition and hunting rep.
