Gotta' disagree Trap...VM is the 2d greatest invention behind caller ID. My wife's pet peeve is when I ignore the phone. I always let it go to VM for the same reason IDP does...I don't want to talk right now, and I may not even want to talk to the caller
at all! When the wifes out or during the school day, I check caller ID to see if loved one's need something. Other than that, I don't even notice it ringing.
My pet peeve (related) is when people block their #! It's the equivalent of knocking on somebody's door and not responding when asked "Who's there?"!
Others...
Libiots.
Throwing out food. It's the closest thing to a sin that my secular mind can think of. Seeing heaps of food in the trash after a big party just sits poorly with me.
Being asked for my phone # by a retail clerk. My ZIP is one thing, but my f**kin' phone #?!?!?! I'm way more polite than I fel like being, but I know it's not the clerks idea.
Petulant homos.
Drivers who can't take a left turn at an intersection properly. Nobody in MA does it right, to the point that I couldn't even if I wanted to.
Unions.
Union teachers.
Libiots.
About answering machines: I won't have a conversation with them; I'll say who I am and that I'd like a call back and then hang up. We have one with a thirty-second message space; if someone exceeds that, the machine just cuts them off and I am darned surprised how many people who should know this insist on talking to the machine until it han
CRAP!!!
I'm on the porch and a lizard just scared the bejayzus outta me!!
... until it hangs up on them.
I was laughing when I got to the point where you got cut off by the lizard. I thought you were joking about how long you were going on.
Not that I thought you were going on too long.
